This weather is just great isn't it? I feel like I have cabin fever considering I've been confined to an office for the past 48 hours while working diligently away on a computer. The roads have been so bad that trying to get out and appraise a house has been somewhat of a joke. Luckily for you fine blog readers I've found/thought of all kinds of good things to blog about...not on company time of course:
All-Time Greatest Sports Blowups
These are some of my favorite that I could think of and I ranked them from 1 to 5
1) Bobby Knight - It's Forming...I Can See An Image
2) Dan Hawkins - Go Play Intermurals Brother!
3) Allen Iverson - Practice? Practice?
4) Mike Gundy - I'm A Man!
5) Kevin Borseth - Offensive Rebounds
I'm glad to see that there are currently 18 people signed up for the College Bowl Pick 'Em group that I made on Yahoo. If you haven't taken the opportunity to sign up (and you want to) just refer to Sunday's post for the info. to get locked up. Last night I was perusing different forums for info. regarding recruiting, bowl games, etc. and I stumbled across a link that led me to the gifts players receive for their participation in each bowl game. Here's what the Ducks and Beavers will get for their respective appearances:
Holiday Bowl:
Player Gift Package
Players from both schools will receive a Tourneau watch, a hooded sweatshirt from Sports Tek, an Insignia 19” HD TV/DVD Player, and a Best Buy gift certificate.
Sun Bowl:
Player Gift Package
Players from both schools will receive a Sony DVD Handycam, a Timely Watch Co. Silvertone watch, an Armor Gear Dolly Llama Travel Bag, a Majestic Therma Fleece Pullover, a Brut hair dryer, a VP Sports Stone cap, and an official Brut Sun Bowl souvenir coin.
I'm assuming the Tourneau watch the Ducks are getting will be very cool and expensive. It's a helluva lot better than a Brut hair dryer? How many men use hair dryers anyway? Well, maybe the Sun Bowl figured since the Beavers did wear bra's at one point that they still liked to get their hair "did." A Sony DVD Handycam is a great idea though because you could pawn that off to a family member and they could film the game and get player input after it's over. I think players attending the Champ Sports Bowl have hit the jackpot considering EACH kid gets a $400 shopping spree at a local Best Buy during the week leading up to the game. Here's a link to "Behind The Bowls: The swag, the events, the background for each bowl game" from collegefootballnews.com that profiles all the bowl games and what they offer the players. I'm assuming as time creeps closer to the BCS games they will profile those bowls as well.
