Oregon's New Uniforms? Uh Oh....

According to uber-donor and Nike inventor extraordinaire Phil Knight, Oregon does have new uniforms on the way at some point this season. But what exactly will they look like is the biggest question? I have seen numerous people throw out the concept of some sort of "camo" uniform combination, and I have to say that if those rumors are remotely true I might have to pick a new team to support.

While browsing the usual Duck enthusiast boards I came across a rumor from uniwatchblog.com that may hold more water than the "camo" idea.

Here's the gist of the rumor:

I just graduated from Oregon. During my final class this summer, we had a group project. One of my group members told me about his uncle, who is personal friends with Phil Knight. During dinner one night, Phil told my friend’s uncle and his dad about the Oregon uniforms. They are going to be a solid, one-piece uniform (unitard) with a very space/tech edge. “Very strange-looking” was my friend’s description. And apparently they will be worn at homecoming versus UCLA [which is on October 11th].

Whether it will be all-black, including helmets, as someone mentioned in the comments following that article you posted to, I am not sure. But my friend said that is solid inside information from his uncle.

Yeah, I know...a UNITARD right?! The more I thought about it though this could be a REALLY interesting concept. First off, Nike doesn't do anything half-ass. With that being said I can see a full bodysuit made of an under-armour (oh my bad...Dri-Fit!) material that would have places for the pads to be built in. I remember watching some of the Olympic sprinters in Sydney in 2000 and they had some track suits that looked like this, but had pieces that went around there head as well.

Here's the closest thing I could imagine to the uniforms looking like sans the spots for all the pads. All I ask is this....PLEASE NO CAMO!
